SPACEFLIGHT MISSON & CONTROL LAB
Our research laboratory conducts studies on attitude guidance and control for satellites. To ensure that a satellite's antenna and payload are oriented in the desired direction and maintained stably in orbit, it is essential to research attitude guidance profiles and precise control using various actuators.
In satellite attitude maneuvers, various constraints must be considered, including hardware limitations, attitude requirements for communication with ground stations, and, in the case of observation missions—one of the key tasks—spin-to-spin boundary conditions. Our research laboratory is developing optimal attitude guidance algorithms that enable fast and stable mission execution while adhering to these complex constraints.
Additionally, we are developing onboard software to efficiently upload the designed attitude guidance profiles to satellites. We also conduct research on improving attitude maneuver performance using reaction wheels, control moment gyroscopes (CMGs), and thrusters, as well as fault-tolerant control strategies for actuator failures.
Through this research, we aim to enhance the stability and precision of satellite control, thereby increasing mission success rates and reliability across various applications.
